Nooshin Cohanim, MD

Dr. Cohanim treats a broad spectrum of issues including thyroid, anxiety, diabetes and asthma.

Focusing on disease prevention, she works closely with her patients to screen for diseases, and emphasizes nutrition and lifestyle changes to promote good health and wellbeing. She believes in personalizing treatment plans in partnership with her patients and working toward lifestyle modifications before turning to medication whenever feasible.

Dr. Cohanim joined PCMA in 2005. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Illinois, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine there as well.

Dr. Cohanim resides in Chicago with her husband and two highly energetic young daughters.

Walk-In Hours

Established patients can be seen each weekday morning from 8:00-8:45 am by a physician or nurse practitioner, without making an appointment. Patients are seen on a first come, first served, basis. We advise our patients to arrive as close to 8:00 am as possible in order to be seen in a timely fashion. Walk-In hours are for a limited number of acute issues such as:
Flu symptoms – Rash – Sore throat – Urinary tract infection – Sprained ankles – STDs

Patients may not be seen during Walk-In Hours for the types of issues below. These matters require an appointment to ensure that the provider is able to do a thorough assessment to meet the patient’s medical needs.

Issues NOT included in Walk-In Hours
Prescription Refills – Follow up on chronic problems – Filling out forms – Multiple ailments – New patients

If you arrive during Walk-In Hours for any of these reasons, you will not be seen, and will be asked to make an appointment with your provider.

New patients must make an appointment to be seen by a physician or nurse practitioner during regular business hours.
